Proposal for New Middle School
The 2021 bond proposition, which totals $70,000,000 is for a new middle school to replace Gainesville Junior High. The current Junior High was built in 1959 and was the High School until the construction of the current GHS building on I-35.

Proposed Schedule:
November 2, 2021: Election
December 2021: Community-Driven Design Process Begins
Summer 2022: Phase 1 Begins
Summer 2023: Phase 1 Complete/Phase 2 Begins
Summer 2024: Project Complete
2024-2025 School Year: 6-8 grade students will occupy all of the new buildingIncluded in the new school:
- Career and Technical Spaces
- Special Program Spaces: Resource, Life Skills, Behavioral Intervention
- Fine Arts: Band, Choir, Visual Arts, Theater Arts
- Physical Education: PE, Athletics, Gymnasium, Weight Room

If voters approve the 2021 bond election in November, the design process would begin almost immediately.
