Curriculum & Instruction
-
The Curriculum and Instruction department supports each campus to assist in addressing the individual instructional needs of our diverse student population. Teachers use campus curriculum guides, which incorporate the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), as the knowledge, concepts, and skills that GISD students will master in each of the content areas. Grade-level and departmental curriculum guides are developed through an ongoing collaborative process. Campuses assess student performance on a regular basis to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
Mission
Gainesville ISD will provide quality instructional services which support engaging, relevant instruction aligned to a standards-based curriculum that produces outstanding student achievement and lifelong learning that can be observed, monitored, measured, and evaluated. We utilize the current research-based best practices in our classrooms and equip our staff with the tools and resources to impact student achievement.
